Yay new transfer!
We received transfer
calls on Saturday night to find out how things would be changing. Sister Giles
and I are remaining in Dongdaemun! Huzzah! This transfer will also be my last
transfer as a greenie, which is a little scary to think about, but also pretty
motivating. Gotta improve in so many ways! Little at a time, though, and it'll
be good.
새해복 많이 벋으세요! It's 설날! New Year's! You know what that means? No one
is here! This is one of the biggest holidays in Korea, and many people go back
to their hometown to celebrate; Sacrament meeting yesterday was pretty sparse.
It's so cold. Painfully
so. When we go out, I can keep pretty warm, except for my face. My face gets
real cold. But that's okay. As long as I go out with a smile on my face, then
it will be frozen there and people will just thing I'm thrilled all the time.
Or slightly broken. Either way, smiling is good. :)
I don't know if you've
heard (you probably have, since it's pretty big news), but our daily schedules
have been changed! This means several things: planning is in the morning (I
will feel so empty for the first few days, probably, going to bed not knowing
exactly what we're going to be doing the next day), we can be out of the house
by 10 AM (studies used to go 'til 11 AM), and we're allowed to go to bed
starting at 9:30 PM (an hour earlier than usual!). Hurray for changes! We will
have to find time for companionship and language study, but it will be okay.
Good practice for life after the mission (which is actually one of the reasons
for the schedule change). Some other cool changes are that our P day starts at
8 in the morning now instead of after studies at 11. Woot woot! It's kind of
crazy how much time we have...
TODAY IS SISTER GILES'
BIRTHDAY! 생일 축아합니다 자일스 자매님! We're doing fun things today with Sister Davis
and Sister Wright from Hwayang area.
We met 함윤혜 this week, our new investigator, and she is the best! We've only
taught her one lesson, and we saw her again at the 설널
party we hosted, so there's not much to say except that she radiates as a
daughter of God and her potential is apparent! Yay 함윤혜 자매님!
Friday was cleaning day.
We literally cleaned all day, which sounds awful, but we just put the EFY
playlist on repeat and went for it.
Saturday we had a 설날
conference at the mission office. There was good food and fun music, and we
played games. Also--and I know this may be hard to believe, but there were many
witnesses to confirm--Sister Wright, Sister Davis, Sister Giles, and I did 106
jump rope jumps, setting the new record for the mission. My legs were sad, but
it was a good day. I need to work out more.
I love you all! Thank
you for writing me! If I don't reply immediately, I apologize: lots to write
and so little time, but I'll get to you as soon as I can!
Love,
Sister Chun
PS - Once upon a time I
realized that my beautiful angel mother posts pictures on the blog regardless
of whether or not I send them, so! I actually took pictures this week!
